Uhhh random stuff I think.
I've been all over the place emotionally this past week. Things haven't been sappy but I just am sort of unemotional if that makes sense. God, usually it's the opposite way around. Anyway, I think my brain was/is just fried and tired of thinking about everything constantly. Everything's cool though, just a bit much to handle.
Flute, much better than in August that's for sure! The Carter, (thankfully is over,)- really great piece, I really fell in love with the piece itself- just not the members I was rehearsing it with. Some day I'll perform it again, I know it. I just don't know why people have such a hard time keeping pulse, counting, and not forgetting to come back in after rests. My high school flute quartetists, yes but- MASTERS STUDENTS? no. NO.
The studio recital was really fun. Really relaxed, informal, helpful, somewhat covered for my playing at least, but a really great atmosphere and afternoon of fluting :) The masterclass was quite the same way. JS is just so good at not flipping out over things that are slightly bad, or just awful, it's sure as hell weirdly motivating. I think he's freaking great. You probably all know that by now hahah
As you can see, lots of commas today folks! ahaha I think I'm in this mode due to the Bach paper I was just starting.... everything is fragmented and so periods are just not needed yet! hahaha
THIS PAPER IS ALL I HAVE LEFT to my really relaxed and easy work load this semester. I'm really looking forward to sleeping more, having time to actually clean up in my apartment and get some major work done on the flute rep for my recital. I just LOVE so much music right now.
I bought sugar snap peas yesterday, and they're amazing.
I continue my obsession with orange sherbert, vanilla wafers, honey roasted peanuts AND CASHEWS, and definitely peppercorn ranch dressing. I wouldn't say I've been lacking variety.... I've just got some definite favorites.
I realllllllllllllllllllly need to christmas shop. Like pronto. Only I hate spending a lot of money when I shop, since I'm frugal like that, and in debt now too ahahha lovely.
The orchestras here are playing the following stuff next semester: Dvorak Cello Concerto, RK Capriccio, Ravel's Tombeau, Schumann a minor piano concerto, Magic Flute overture, Mozart 7, Rite of SPRING!, BRAHMS 2, ELGAR's ENIGMA Vars, Barber Cello Concerto, Berg's 7 Early songs, and a couple of other random things. OHHHHH MAN - SO exciting. As you can see the caps locks ones would be SOOOO incredible to play... but we'll see how it all rotates out.
I'm so far behind with my scheduling and calling flute company people for next month.... wow way to be a procrastinator about the most important thing in years ahhaha. AHAHAHAH
Can you tell I need some sleep? :)
