lala Drama lala Llama

I am feeling wordy and not picturey.  Apparently, I am also feeling like making up words that resemble real words.

On My Mind:

BLM is almost finished!  By finished I mean almost 75 but I still have a long road meripo road ahead of me.

I am hoping to be able to start LS events with Frypan again now that the leveling static is coming to a close.  I enjoy having game events and accomplishing goals and I want to do it with my friends.  Let's hope they feel the same.

Speaking of friends...

I have been thinking about the friends that have left the game a lot lately.  The revolving FFXI door usually swings the quitters right back into the game in a few months but there are the few that manage to break the addiction (or replace it with a new one).  And I mean no negative connotation when I say 'quitters', I have been a quitter 3 times now (I think).

Maalox recently quit and left on a 'cruise' as he calls it.  I can't imagine the how hard that has to be for him and his family.  I have enormous respect for them and I hope he comes home soon with a smile on his face and reactivation on his mind!  But even if he never comes back to the game he will always be a friend.

Valout left quite a while ago but his name still seems to come up in Frypan often.  He was a quiet guy but his presence is missed.  I still think of the last night we spent with him whenever I am at Holla or the banishing gate.  He was in our LS and our CoP static and when he left he honored me with his Osode which I will always cherish (even if I never get to wear it!).

There are so many others that have come and gone and yet made an impression on me and I miss them.  I know this post may evoke the hypocritical and cynical 'it's only a game' response.  But for (almost) every character on FFXI there is a real person behind it and if you cannot fathom a real friendship that started in a game than go eat a cookie and make sure your hair is still completely covering one of your eyes.

Tangent aside I do hope that we can muster up some enthusiasm for LS events now that we have had a break from the sky shell we were all in.  I understand that some people will not want to participate in small man events because it is so much more prestigious to be in a big shell that can throw it's weight around and has point systems and a pecking order of important people.  It's not for me though.  I just prefer the family shell atmosphere.  Don't get me wrong I have all the ambition and gear whore-ness that the average player does I just want to do it with friends or not at all.  It is rare to have a group that values you as more than the 18th person in an alliance who can sing songs and rotate DD's.  My friends will spend hours helping me attain some small goal, take countless deaths, and make me laugh while doing it.  I would do the same for them and it is that kind of camaraderie that keeps me in this game.

Drama arrives on a llama:

There has been a little drama llama surrounding Frypan members and I would just like to say to no one in particular that anyone with a Frypan peal in their inventory is welcome in the shell.  If you weren't... well then you would know it, without a doubt.  Every group of friends will have friction, I think probably every one of my friends has at one time or another had a /tell war with me about some issue.  But, we work it out or we forget it and we move on.  Except BB, he has his own zip code on my Blist!

Just kidding,  BB doesn't exist!

Frypan Vocab:
