(no subject)
Beh... I am sick... colds are rare with me and very sneaky. I just randomly wake up with one with no previous indicators. Anyways, the frustration with colds always lies in the way I play flute when I am sick. I hate the funny way my sound resonates when my nose is stuffed up.
Anywhoo... aside from my surprise Sunday morning cold, it was a good weekend. On Saturday, in keeping with the trend of the rather epic Jane Austen kick I appear to be on, I went and saw Becoming Jane with Lindsay and Crystal. It was really nice to get to hang out with them both again. In hindsight I am not 110% sure of my feelings about the movie. There were some rather unrealistic moments. The primary focus of the movie is one chapter of a 2003 biography by Jon Spence entitled Becoming Jane Austen which postulates a possible attraction/relationship/friendship (or whatever you'd call it in the 19th century) between Jane Austen and a penniless lawyer and much of it is speculative. It was a really entertaining movie though, well acted and beautifully shot... and it made me cry, something which most girly movies don't achieve.
Saturday evening, a bunch of us from IVCF bible study got together and made pizza and played scrabble. It was a really fun evening.. I'd forgotten how much I love scrabble!
Today consisted of church and flute... ooh and since I forgot to add this earlier finishing the mixing and drying of backpacking food. I am so excited for this because it means that not only the rather onerous task of meal planning/organisation is finished but also that we are going backpacking really freaking soon! :-)
