My goodness! Some tremendous orange gourds were delivered in the kitchen shipment today! They look a little bit like gia*, but the crates said they were "pumpkins!" There are dozens of recipes that use them, especially in my holiday cookbook: soups, muffins, loaves, cakes, pie; the seeds can even be cleaned and salted and baked as a snack. A

It's a greaaaat, huge squash *makes a circle with his arms* that's bright orange. Its insides are pulpy and filled with seeds. They apparently grow on a vine on the ground. They're good with spices and butter and salt, according to my recipes XD Want to see them?
