{Memento} A Fading Year
My goodness! Some tremendous orange gourds were delivered in the kitchen shipment today! They look a little bit like gia*, but the crates said they were "pumpkins!" There are dozens of recipes that use them, especially in my holiday cookbook: soups, muffins, loaves, cakes, pie; the seeds can even be cleaned and salted and baked as a snack. A pumpkin itself can be baked and eaten. It all sounds so delicious!
But, before I can do any of that, we've got to have a lot of pumpkins cut open and scooped out. Ahaha, and that's where the fun can begin! It's a tradition, I've read, to carve faces and shapes into the pumpkin shells and then put candles inside to set them alight! Then I can take the insides and seeds to make treats for everyone ^.^ How does that sound? Who would like to come down to the kitchens to work on the pumpkins with me? ^___^
Ah, the weather's been so lovely recently. So very crisp, not too cold, no longer hot, just perfect. The leaves are gorgeous and the breeze has just the right kick to it ^.^ The fruits from the harvest have all been delicious. This is truly a wonderful autumn!
As a rather sudden change of topic, I wanted to apologize to anyone who might have been bothered by my behavior up until recently ^.^;;; We all know there are some strange things on this island that can affect people in odd ways. There's no need to worry about me any longer, because my heroes managed to find a way to negate the effects XD So, everything's back to normal!
Oh, Kimihiro, I won't be needing you to fill in for me now, but I would love it if you could come down to help me bake up all this pumpkin. There are going to be a lot of tasty dishes we can whip up! ^.^
(( *OOC: I stole a fruit name from Rayearth for Fai's country, which made sense to me because his country's name is Seles, which is also the name of one of the Mashin from Rayearth >.>;;; Even so, I figure the gia from Rayearth and the gia from Fai's country would look different, just like apples between worlds looked different XD ))
