Author's Notes: Well I made this up on a whim. I liked it though.
Kaile slammed her hands against Eric’s desk, making both him and Kaelyn jump from where they were sitting. Eric looked up at her with wide eyes and pressed back into his chair, slightly frightened of Kaile.
"Did I do something?"
"Your sister told me about you during the academy," said Kaile quietly. Eric sighed, slightly relieved that it wasn’t that- "She also said you slept with Tanner."
"Wait, what?" asked Eric, looking over at Kaelyn who’s mouth had dropped. He turned back to Kaile and shook his head quickly. "Dona said this?"
"Did you?"
"I-"
"Why would you tell Donata-"
"Hey, Tanner. Not talking to you."
Kaelyn held Kaile’s glare for a moment before standing up and walking off. Eric looked after her with a pained expression on his face.
"Kae, wait-!"
"You’re gonna go after her?" asked Kaile, sounding hurt as Eric stood up. He closed his eyes and sighed before turning back to Kaile.
"My sister, doesn’t know what she’s talking about," said Eric slowly. "Tanner and I, we don’t go together-"
"You keep saying that," said Kaile, crossing her arms over her chest and shaking her head slowly. "But how would you know that?"
"Because Dona was right," said Eric softly. "But it’s not what you think."
"What is it then, Cafiso?" asked Kaile just as softly, with a bit more venom in her voice than Eric had.
"You ever find out something about your best friend and realize that was why they were so fucked up?" asked Eric softly. Kaile nodded and Eric sighed before continuing. "I found out Tanner was raped in London when she was in college and the police didn’t do anything about it. She got herself drunk enough and came onto me and I didn’t have the heart to tell her that we were just friends. The next time Donata says something about me in the academy ask me before you jump to conclusions that have results like this."
Eric finished talking and turned back to follow Kaelyn, leaving Kaile staring after them.
"I’m sorry!" she called after Eric, making him stop in the middle of the hallway and turn back to her with a soft smile on his face. He nodded and continued on after Kaelyn. Kaile slid into Eric’s chair and banged her head against his desk, muttering curses under her breath.
