I did go and vote already. Ended up leaving half of everything blank. Apparently, I didn't investigate enough...I didn't know judges were on the ballot.
Anywho, I don't think I need to get into who or what I voted for...except one issue.
The "Yes on Adm. 2" signs pissed me OFF when I was driving to the polling place. The signs said, "Yes on 2...protect children". I was like, "...WTF?"
HOW do children have ANYTHING to do with it? Easy. It's another cheap trick by the Christian Right Wing to scare people into voting the way they want. And people wonder why I left the religion, faith aside...
There's no reason for this Adm. except for Christian Extremists to impose their beliefs on everyone. If you disagree with same-sex marriages, you don't have to do anything...there's already a law. I don't agree with THAT, either, but at least it isn't creating a false definition and abolishing rights and benefits.
So think long and hard before voting for 2, even if you're not a fan of same-sex marriage. There's more going on here than the obvious...
Otherwise, voting was neat. It *does* give you one hell of a patriotic feeling...especially since I haven't done it since 2000. I love this nation. We might fuck it up some of the time, but at least we're free to try again. :)
