it's for fandom or pairings or characters that have less than 10 fics on ao3.
the requirement is 2000 words for fic, it's due some time in october i think
as far as fandoms are concerned, there is lucifer/mazikeen for you, and some other sandman pairings. thesally & death! ♥
there's some anime/manga fandoms, though i didn't check out which ones are offered :/

i've been neglecting my book reading :/ i still haven't read radiant shadows. unReal and Girls have (other than the ficathon) commanded my media-consuming-attention.

I hope you're enjoying your tv.

i thought you'd say that. it's definitely on my "to read someday" list, because of you and, if i remember correctly, marta and/or kelsey occassionally flailing about it
and tv is a blessing, such wonderful female anti-heroes all over the place

(I am nothing if not predictable in recc'ing things all the time.)
Ooooh, female anti-heroes are always a joy to hear about.

There has never been a more sparkly princess than Judd, the master assassin.

LOOK. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW IS THAT THERE IS A MAN NAMED JUDD. OKAY? AND THIS MAN NAMED JUDD
HE IS A SPARKLY PRINCESS ASSASSIN
There is also adorably-human, totally over everyone's shit, Kelsey-reads-him-as-bi MAX that I refer to in my mind as MIGHTY MIGHTY MAX ALMIGHTY and no one else seems to love him like I do but HE'S SO OVER EVERYONE'S SHIT, DORIS.
Also.
LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE FEMALE. There is not a female I dislike. There are a few I don't care for, but none of them are one-dimensional, they all are amazing and fully expressed.
Also:: RIDDLE ME A ROMANCE NOVEL SERIES WHERE THE SEXIEST PARTS ARE ALWAYS ALWAYS ABOUT CONSENT IN A WORLD IN WHICH SOUL BONDING IS FUCKING CANONLIKE JUST CONTEMPLATE THAT FOR A FUCKING SECOND ( ... )

But this is the actual sexiest series I've read. It actually ruined my life, second only to Naruto (fandom that got me into fandom in the first place), to the extent I look at fictional relationships differently now? I WAS SO INTO DYSFUNCTIONAL SHIPS BEFORE THIS, DORIS! And of course I still am, but these are right!ships with the elements of life-changing terrible devotion that end with hope. All the NUANCES in the relationships. Even though the couples often don't hit my relationship kinks, I'm still so enthralled on the ones that do ( ... )

Yeah, I mean. If I had known, this would have been the selling point for me going and was definitely one of the things that I loved even in book ONE and kept me going. There's some really hairy shit going on and when the characters have valid anger (and so many of them do), there is nothing in the narrative or in their romantic relationships that tell them - or the reader - that they shouldn't be angry or that their anger is any way deemed a negative thing.

I think it's really telling that one of my favorite relationships was one that I was dreading because I worried that the book would try to convince me to right!ship something problematic and instead of doing that, Singh actually took the ingredients for a wrong!ship and made it into a right!ship by being honest and respectful of her characters and also flipping stereotypes and expectations in a refreshingly sexy way. I don't know how else to talk about this without being spoilery, but while there are a few things that stick out as not really working well - these aren't your typical romance tropes. Everything is lovely and things hurt so good.
Rosa is laughing at me and damn but as soon as I finish shards of hope I'll probably go back and re-read kiss of snow because REASONSor Bonds of Justice, because let's face it: I'm a sucker for Max ( ... )

Yup. While this pairing isn't one of my favourites, Doris, the fact is, in any other series it would have been my nOTP. AND YET IT WORKED FOR ME, completely.
How far are you through? And do you have any feelings so far? *braces self*

Indeed.
I think 90% of my love for this pairing is basically just love for the author somehow turning something that shouldn't have worked into something THAT TOTALLY DID. It's like how sometimes I just have to admit to myself that I love Raven Boys because the narrative is so damn sexy and it has less to do with the characters than the form, Doris with this particular pairing the sexy part is that the writing is just so damn good.
I'm less than a 1/4 of the way through... like 100 pages. ROSA WHY WASN'T THIS RELATIONSHIP BUILT UP IN THE PREVIOUS BOOKS THIS IS SO WEIRD LIKE "HIHI WE HAVE BEEN IN LOVE SINCE CHILDHOOD" AND I KEEP LOOKING AROUND THE ROOM LIKE MY CAPTAIN AMERICA STUFFIE WILL BE ABLE TO EXPLAIN TO ME WHY THIS WASN'T ESTABLISHED BEFORE? CERTAINLY BETWEEN ALL THE ADEN/VASIC SUBTEXT SHE COULD HAVE SLIPPED US A BONE ABOUT THIS????
