I went to church tonight. Taize service.  We started in laughter, as the Sat@6 congregation often does.  We're a friendly, informal, relaxed church, right through all our congregations, and it shows.  We were learning new songs, since I'd decided to throw in a couple of scary foreign new ones - we thought it best to learn them first.  And then we moved, as we always do, through the service. Gently, sometimes quietly, sometimes in strong, full voice. Sometimes joyful, sometimes thoughtful. We closed. We ate, we caught up.  And then I cycled home, with the big, yellow full moon rising behind the hills off to my left, sliding behind the streaks of clouds, lighting them up with a golden edge.  Home is much easier than cycling to church, it has more downhill and less uphill.  I came home, and Pete texted to invite me to the club. People were there, friends, people I like to catch up with. And the temptation of chips, too.  I considered.  Was I hungry-tired, in which case I could go down to the club and the people and a bowl of chips would probably perk me up, or was I just...tired.  Tired won out, so I am still at home and have instead been working on the church website, filtering a few people out of my fb friends, and am now debating embarking on a craft project.  It is almost 10pm, admittedly, but I never sleep early when Pete's out.
