First paragraph is a great hook, showing the vast difference between Buffy and Angel by looking at that canon scene. And this: She's a terrible liar, which he likes to think shows a natural inclination toward truth, although it could be equally related to a lack of acting ability. So true! So Buffy! I love that about her (just like Angel does ( ... )

I'm excited that I got to add Xander/Dawn to a story that didn't originally have it. They're not like my OTP or anything, but they're my favorite choices for each other, and wouldn't it be nice if Xander ended up as real family for Buffy?
Oh, and I totally agree about Angel's good aspects coming from Liam along with Angelus's evil ones. Not entirely, in either case, but I love when I can recognize our Angel in Liam-flashbacks in fic.

also like the whole idea of expanding on those few minutes in the actual episode to show why angel decides not to hide from buffys mother.
you could really feel the long termness of their love, and the knowing each other that comes with all that. nice to believe in that.

I have the feeling that Buffy would originally be kind of weirded out to marry someone more than 10 years younger than herself but then realize that there's already a giant age difference between them anyway, so what does it matter?
A lot of my fic ideas come from taking a look into a character's brain at a particular moment. What made them say whatever they said with those words, with that tone? Why did they wear something that they wouldn't have worn before? Then I give some backstory to something that might have just been the result of weird costuming.
I'm glad you liked the romance of it all. Thanks for reviewing.

But here I am, and what a wonderful tale it is too. Worth getting here for.
I love the descriptions and the in depth detail you went into for Liam's background. His father, mother, and life in general back in the day.
He never used violence (he wasn't an angry man, only a stupid, selfish one), just coercion and manipulation and the slightest hint of pressure.
But that wasn't until later, not until he was seventeen (or maybe eighteen. Those years of uselessness blend for him, grow unremarkable from their sameness of sex and liquor).
Oh, not until he was seventeen? Oh Liam. What a life, what an outlook he had and still had until he was turned, years later. And you filled in the reasons why he saw life that way, acted out in rebellion.
He chuckles. “I never would have asked you to get my ( ... )
