I only just realised that you must have written a fic for the lyric wheel, after you mentioned that you had sent me my prompts. Gah! Sorry, I would have been here sooner. I thought the link would tell me who else has written for the wheel.

But here I am, and what a wonderful tale it is too. Worth getting here for.

I love the descriptions and the in depth detail you went into for Liam's background. His father, mother, and life in general back in the day.

He never used violence (he wasn't an angry man, only a stupid, selfish one), just coercion and manipulation and the slightest hint of pressure.
But that wasn't until later, not until he was seventeen (or maybe eighteen. Those years of uselessness blend for him, grow unremarkable from their sameness of sex and liquor).

Oh, not until he was seventeen? Oh Liam. What a life, what an outlook he had and still had until he was turned, years later. And you filled in the reasons why he saw life that way, acted out in rebellion.

He chuckles. “I never would have asked you to get my blood. I probably would have kept it in a separate fridge in a separate house.”

He wants her to tell him, “Silly man, there wasn't any need for that,” but he knows that it's not true. Sixteen year old Buffy, no matter how much she loved him, wouldn't have been able to receive all the secrets of his dead, hollowed heart.

So true. Then. Having been around for a couple of centuries, Angel did know that Buffy was so very young, even for a slayer who had a good head on her shoulders. That they are married, albeit an age difference (which doesn't matter so much at 55 and 67) and Buffy has received all the secrets of his dead, hollow heart and that it doesn't make a jot of difference is what matters.

Well done on this fic. A great look into Angel's past and inner thoughts, and also his future, children (sex talk aside) and all. :0)

Buffy has received all the secrets of his dead, hollow heart and that it doesn't make a jot of difference is what matters.

This is my favorite future for B/A. When I say they are my OTP, I mean that I will love them to the ends of the earth. But they didn't really do that much talking that we saw. I believe they talked more offscreen, but I don't think Buffy was ready/old enough/experienced enough to hear what Angel had to tell her and accept it, and I don't think that Angel had accepted himself enough to be able to talk about the things he had done, as Liam or Angelus. Thus, happy future of talking and sharing and acceptance. Yay!

Glad you liked it when you found it and thank you for the oh-so-lovely review!!
