OH YEAH BSG...1. I honestly do love Anders, but he is not some asslicking-worthy saint for putting up with so much of Starbuck's shit. She is such a bitch to him only because he's weak enough to let her (again, and again, and again) and this doesn't make her have much respect for him
( ... )
DING DING DING, WE HAVE A WINNER. Kara/Anders is not inherently healthier than Kara/Lee. I don't hate Anders, although there are occasions where I bemoan his remaining presence on the show, but I have never bought the argument that K/A is a healthy relationship or inherently better than K/L. Kara walks all over Anders, and their relationship isn't healthier because he supposedly lets her be herself. Ugh.
1. I'd always figured Harry was going to end up defeating Voldemort in some kind of passive rather than violent way, so I didn't think the lack of some big battle between them at the end was lame.
2. I love both Severus Snape and James Potter as characters and don't get why most people feel the need to side with one of them and get so hateful and defensive about it. Appreciating a character doesn't mean you have to excuse everything they do and hate every character who doesn't get along with them.
3. I did not feel like throwing up after reading the epilogue or anything. It was kind of forgettable, but I don't get why the first thing anyone ever brings up regarding Deathly Hallows is how much the epilogue sucked when it's the least important five pages of a really massive book.
Oh man. I really can't think of a single unpopular opinion about LotR because it's just such a wank-free fandom. :( But instead I can come up with plenty for Twilight, LOL...
1. All the complaining about the books being compared to classics gets a little excessive. A chill pill, have one. Even if it's lol-worthy how unfitting the comparisons sometimes are, I really don't think SM is trying to pretend she's the next Jane Austen but just openly takes inspiration from those books, so there's no need for all the "STFU Stephenie, Twilight will never be Wuthering Heights" comments. I think a lot of fans just look for things to bitch about.
2. I think SM actually does think she's writing more than just fun romance novels, so it's fair game to criticize them for failing as anything more. And because of this, I also can't let go of a little bit of hope that she's actually going to give Bella some significant growth as a person and Breaking Dawn might have a message other than "tru luv 4ever

1) Uh the little bits I've read of interviews actually makes me think that she's on some delusion of grandeur.
2) Bella won't, I am convinced. Because Smeyers is unable of.
3) Agreed!
4) I don't care for the movie AT ALL. I am not dazzled by RPatts neither.
5) Wins for most lolastic scene in the books.
