a few questions

1. To Londoners: Anyone got contacts in the posh foodie world? My very dear friend Diana is moving to London this summer (her partner got a lectureship at UCL) - she's a sommelier/wine buyer with many years experience in the industry in Boston and she needs a job. Any suggestions much appreciated.

2. To Americans: If I say 'the thief jumped the turnstile' does that sound fine to you? Would the average college undergraduate know what a turnstile is? I can't distinguish between my own dialects anymore.

3. To All: Does anyone have any experience with hiring a moving company? I've been filling out automatic estimate forms on loads of moving company sites and I've got a bunch of quotes, but I don't know anything about what questions to ask, things to be concerned about, etc. I know it's not unusual for movers to steal things - anyone have any advice on how to protect yourself from that? Anyone with experience with moving between the US and Canada would be especially welcome.

Thanks and happy Wednesday!
