happy october!
i realize again that it has been ages since i updated, and i know that i really need to stop doing that! which, i will hopefully because i have actual news to write about today. i mean, i actually sort of have a life instead of being lame and sitting around a lot...haha.
so, about two and a half weeks ago i started working at the NHS (National Health Service), as i guess a data entry type of person. I got the job through the temp agency i signed up with and it was only supposed to last a week, but then they asked me to stay on another week, and then they asked me to stay on through december. so now i work three days a week, have a desk, a logon, id badge, and even my own e-mail through NHS!! it's pretty sweet, even though slighty ironic since i'm working in the civil service here and i'm american. the work isn't all that thrilling, but the people are great and so friendly, so i'm glad that i'll be with them for a few months!!
the other two days i'm not working, i sleep late (til 8 or even 9am!!) instead of getting up before the crack of dawn and work on my dissertation. i've done loads of reading, even though its been really sort of boring, but i feel like at least i am getting somewhere. have to narrow things down a bit but i'm going to meetwith my advisor tomorrow to talk about it. i also just joined a gym and have been going to spin classes which is why my body hurts right now and taking flute lessons! i would say life is overall, very much on track. i would even dare say that i am having a good time.
