Mad as a hatter

Today I learnt that the term "Mad as a hatter" came from the old days when hat makers would use mercury to make/mold the top hats (consequently out of rabbit fur). The mercury got into their system and made them crazy. Love little tib-bits like that. It's were the character of the Mad Hatter came from in Alice in Wonderland.

I also learnt how to say "how are you?" and "good" in Tagalog (Phillipino). Now I can say "how are you?" and "good" in Serbian/Bosnian/Croatian, Romanian, Tagalog, Indonesian, Italian & English. How fun!
