Recent news is that Boo went in for her surgical consult on Friday, and it will cost (just called to check) about $2000-$2500 per knee to make her less gimpy. I had thought that was total, but just called to check, and yeah. I have enough money, barely, but it just seems like it's way too much now. Today, I got to show my boss what I've done so far and he was happy with what I have and even happier this afternoon when I was able to finish some calculations and one of the simulations I've done that fit the experimental data pretty well also had a close T1 (don't ask). After turning in my last hw set and only having my paper to write, I promised myself I would have it done by today. And despite being totally unproductive over Memorial Day weekend while visiting my grandma, I managed to get it done. My kitties just moved off my lap so that I can tell you all that Boo was sitting on my lap and then Pika climbed and and after they finished cleaning each other, they laid next to each other, basically spooning, Boo's front leg over Pika. It was so cute. Course I think just about everything they do is cute.

Pika managed to wrap her favorite toy around the outside of all of the chairs at my table making it the perfect length so that while she holds one end in her mouth she sees the other end right in front of her and chases it. So cute. Usually she ends up just tangling it all around one chair and I have to untangle it so that it's fun to play with

Pika just sprinted across the room over the couch, and to the window to attack and kill a fly. Heh. Good job Pika. I gave her and Boo both treats to reward them. But, I didn't let Pika eat the fly, since I don't really want her to end up throwing up all over the apt ( Read more... )

The vet just called me to let me know that Boo is a girl. Haha. I never questioned it, and I'm actually surprised that they didn't double check the first time I brought them in. So getting them fixed today will be a bit more expensive, and hopefully they won't mind if I can't pick them up until after 1 tomorrow.

Overslept a lot this morning, but got the kittens to the vet ok. It's sad and lonely being home without them, but I'm supposed to hopefully be able to pick both up at 6pm. I opted to get them microchipped at the same time, but none of the other tests or fancy new types of surgery I could have had. Hopefully it all works out...
