Okay, so yesterday/Thursday I finally said "fuck it" to work and called off because I really am sick. Honestly I had every intention to go to work, as much as I dislike the idea of working New Year's Eve at night, but hadn't it been for my mom that noticed how crappy I've been she made me realized I was running a fever.
So when I called my job, they said I either had to go to the doctor and bring a note or come in to be "evaluated" so I'd be sent home. I was honest and told them I don't have money to go to the doctor but I'd try to figure out something if I could...yeah right on New Year's Eve. Really what's making me sick is this cough I can't seem to get rid of, likely caused by all the second-hand smoke I've been breathing in over the past 2 years working there, and just the stress from working there during the holidays. My heart keeps feeling accelerated like it will jump out of my chest. I'm calling in for today again as soon as I wake up. My parents gave me that look I really shouldn't go in, and either way taking some medicine that's making me drowsy. If they want to fire me, so be it. I shouldn't even be going in when I can be contagious to others.
Other than that, grateful to have spent the eve and New Years with the family, which is what suits me best, and toying with this meme from

Our Intrepid Heroes
[1:] Who/what are your mains?
- Jessenia, my Hunter would be my first main and the first character I made, so of course I'm very attached to her. None of my other characters would exist if it wasn't for the first one that went through everything first. Jessie reflects a lot of me, and I think in the end the whole reason I went hunter as my first character was due to my inner Poke-nerd. Hey! Even Blizzard admitted to this when it comes to Spirit Beasts-- "they just like to play Pokémon with them." RP wise she's met all sorts of weird and odd people, as well as gotten into random weird stuff. What can I say, she's still a trouble magnet, even at level 80 =D
- Artos, my Death Knight would be second main character as he went from being a class I couldn't get to my second favorite. He's totally tied to my hunter in both game-play and RP sense. I really enjoy playing the class, as it has some very interesting skills, and is very versatile in that you can choose to tank or dps in either of the three trees. RP wise, nowhere near nice as Jess, but this is why I love him so much: straight forward with quite the choice of words, but cares alot about Jess.
[2:] Which alts were your favorite this year?
- Krile, my warlock! While I probably don't play her nearly as much, I adore her to pieces. She's a name tribute to a good friend of mine, but I also enjoy playing the class as well. I like to spoil this character a lot with pretty dresses. Like a friend said once, it's like playing with dolls. XD I can't help it. In character, I think I've put this one through a lot of challenges but she's come out a strong girl. I feel there aren't enough strong female characters out there in any form of media, so when it comes to my RP characters I want them to be strong ones.
- Akabara - After making and deleting level 1 paladins, finally I got one that stayed and is leveling. I blame this one on
badluck_cat and her crazy RP ideas. But I've grown insanely fond of this guy. My goal is for him to be the first 80 of the new year. He just recently got spoiled with a brand new Tiny Crimsom whelp-- a gift from another friend. But I'm glad to have joined the 'Bloodstar' family. ^^ it gave me the incentive to finally play a pally, even if in character Aka-chan tends to slack around a bit XD
- Masaahiro - ah, my second oldest character. I'm still afraid to even try healing, but it's not out of the question to try at least. Or, at least Shadow dps, plus I look forward to having my own Inscriptor. It's promise he'll be the second 80 of 2010. For hanging around that long I think Masaa-chan deserves that much.
[3:] How many characters did you get to 60? 70? 80?
- Three made it to 80: Jessenia, Artos, and Krile who made it in the last few weeks
[4:] What character are you most proud of and why?
- A close tie, but this one goes out to my hunter. As I've said before, she was my first character and the one that I first broke from being a very casual player that only aimed to merely be 80 and maybe get an upgrade here or there, to becoming my first raiding character. But some things can't be experienced on my hunter, which is why I'm also proud of my Death Knight. Through him, not only did I actually learn to play the class right, I also learned to tank and I'm proud that I got past the intimediation and stuck it through
Around Azeroth
[5:] What was your biggest/most memorable achievement(s) this year? What was the most painful?
- When I think about it, I think it was just completing the Fall of Naxxramas. Now, I know this is really easy even with a pug, However, the challenge for me me with any raid is the fact that I live in America but play in the European servers, so it's hard to join my guild on raids that happen during the week, and on weekends not always can raids be completed for any given reason, so it took me a good couple of runs to finally get it all. So it's been the most memorable and painful all in one.
[6:] What has been the most fun raid/pve fight so far in WotLK?
- I think so far it has been Ulduar. Despite my guild not clearing it yet, I just like the variety of the fights. From the siege into Ulduar that makes you ride on vehicles and skinning the mechanical bosses for engineering stuff, to the fight with Freya-- my hunter tends to like this particular area/boss fight because of the herbs, though we've yet to clear it.
[7:] What was your favorite quest/questchain?
- The Wrath Gate, no doubt, which is followed by reclaiming the Undercity. Seeing that you have to fight right along Sylvannas and Thrall makes it stand out. It wasn't just your average quest chain.I really thought this was very emotional and whole phasing process gave it much more of a realistic feeling that indeed you were advancing the storyline. Somehow it feels that it makes your character feel much more part of the story and the events taking place.
[8:] A lot of powerful lore has been introduced in this expansion. Any favorite bits?
- There's just so much. But I'd have to say the introduction of Death Knights and how they progress from being the Lich King's pawns into becoming free from him. Then also I've enjoyed the story revolving the fight against Malygos: I was really saddened by the death of Karistrazza, how she protects your character from Malygos, only to end up having to kill her yourself.
[9:] The rise of the Lich King has changed Azeroth and its people so much. Who's your favorite NPC(s) in this expansion?
- Koltira and Thassarian! You know at first didn't have much love for Koltira, nor gave Thessarian much love. But as I started playing my own Death Knight, I began growing fond of the class and realized in particular how sexy Belf DK's are. I was thrilled when I found out Tokyopop would release a manga about Thassarian. As a fangirl, of course I would ship them, but focusing more on the lore, having read the book gave me a deeper appreciation for a Death Knight and made me love my own even more so.
[10:] Which in-game holiday was the most fun this year?
- I enjoyed quite a few. For starts, I liked the Midsummer Festival as it takes you around all over Azeroth, and hey, if you were level 80 you could rack in quite a bit of gold. I liked Brewfest for getting my DK wasted, and well I did like the Down with the Irondwarves daily. My overall favorite though was Hallow's End. I've probably memorized the Headless' Horseman speech by now, but I still liked the daily quest to put out the fire, and I was lucky enough on my DK to pick up both the sword and helm. The sword was a major welcome since it was the right and needed upgrade at the time to help my DK dps. Pumpkins + Army of the Dead = Brilliant.
Friends and Enemies
[11:] Did you change guilds this year? If so why?
- I joined the rejects Mages of Tirisfal (The Sha'tar - EU ) in May. At the time I was just in friends only guild, but none was ever on since some were taking a break, while my friend here had moved on to a more PvE guild. I realized at the time I was ready and wanted to try more content and go beyond just being a casual player. I met one member when I was asking for someone to make gear for my hunter and he told me about the guild. I wasn't sure if I was ready for it, but seems unknowingly every time I could get on a heroic, I would party up with members of the guild, until one run I met the same leatherworker on a different toon and the guild leader. They seemed pretty easy going, so I dragged my Hunter and DK into the mages. Craziest bunch I've ever met, but without these guys I doubt I'd ever progressed as much as I have. Kudos Mages!
[12:] What was your guild's biggest/proudest accomplishment this year?
- I think so far it's been that we've learned to clear raids as a guild with just our members. When I joined, the guild was working on clearing Naxxramas. Eventually, we geared up everyone enough to step into Ulduar. We've yet to clear that and Eye of Eternity, but it's work in progress. We have recently cleared ToC 10, so I guess for us the biggest accomplishment is that even though we are a casual/social/rp guild, we're still advancing and can push towards end-game content.
[13:] Did you make a lot of new friends? Any mortal enemies?
- Where my Skype friends list had probably only about 4 names on them, it's grown insanely since May. All of my new friends are from my guild. I really enjoy talking to the crazy bunch over Skype, but I think that's what's made us the solid guild we are. They really make me laugh so much, but so much fun :) wouldn't havei t any other way.
[14:] Any fun or memorable PVP encounters?
- Oh hell yes. Back when
badluck_cat and I were leveling her paladin and my warlock. We were 73 and close to hitting 74 and lacking a few exp points, we decided to do a few of the PvP dailies in Grizzly Hills. It was early morning, so shouldn't be much trouble with ganking, right?
Wrong! The area empty. However, just as we were collecting some items off the ground for one of the demolishers, a death knight level 74 had started hovering over us on his mount, and before we knew it he flew down right onto me and killed me. My friend managed to kill him off on her pally while I ran back to my corpse. We stayed on watch, noticing now a Draenei paladin level 75 hovering around. We were talking on Skype about warlocks using fear on PvP combat. We knew it was coming, and indeed both jumped down for us. I kept fearing them non-stop while my friend attacked them. We managed to beat them both in no time. Hah! That's what you get for trying to gank a low level duo when it's Unholy combo of a paladin and warlock.
Looking Ahead
[15:] What changes are you most excited for in Cataclysm?
- To be honest, nothing has really sparked my interest that much, other than perhaps the adding of some race/class combos. I suppose I'll change my mind as more information gets released, but at the moment nothing I'm in particular excited about.
[16:] Which new race/class combos are you going to roll? Got any names yet?
- Not particularly interested in Worgen, but might make one for the hell of it, though I doubt I'll level that. It's likely I will roll a Belf warrior and a Tauren Paladin for the sake of the lore-- I'm curious how this will develop. The only name I have reserved is "Shahrah" for a future mage, which if I decide to use will turn out to be the mother of the Bloodstar brothers. o_o goes without saying who gets the blame for this.
[17:] Where do you see your character(s) in the next few months?
- Akabara will probably finally earn his rank as a Bloodknight Master, then join his brother in Northrend in the fight against the Lich King (..probably after hearing a rant from his brother about slacking off for so long....) Ahem. And learn to properly play a paladin.
- Masaahiro will continue his studies in Inscription in Silvermoon for a few more months before deciding he's learned all he could in the city.
- Krikri will be enrolled at the Dalaran University, College of Tailoring and Fashion whenever her (rp) boyfriend is off on duty. Working on upgrading her gear, and while I don't intend to raid with her like my two mains, I want her to be ready for it if the chance happens.
- Jessenia will continue her Ambassador work among the Horde forces and eventually get her recognition (..because I should really finish getting exalted with the factions when I've only 2 to go >.< ) Hoping continue and complete her T9 set and improve her dps, as I feel she's still my main damage dealing character.
- Artos will continue raising hell in the Lich King's backyard every morning because asides being a captain of the Ebon Blade he's really got nothing better to do, other than make bombs to terrorize people with...But! Also working on his tanking gear as I've switched to mainspec tanking and hope by the end of the month I will have my first tier 10 piece. My goal is 35K at least and higher health if possible.
- ...and then Jess and Artos may tie the knot this year >.>;
Going to bed now for some hours. Hope you guys enjoyed welcoming the New Year. Catch you on the flip side.
