The Noooz
Well, It is official. I am now the proud owner of 5.4 acres of land, a house, a clubhouse, a bunkhouse, 2 storage buildings, and all the trimmings that come with it. Well, the bank and I own it. I am happy, only 30 more years of payments and it will be all mine!!
Sigh.
Anyway, this past weekend marked the start of the official "Clean the living fuck out of the place and move in" fest. Started out with a slow drive in utilizing a chainsaw. Cut trees out of the path, cleared the road in.
Then, it was 'pick the locks and change them', followed shortly thereafter with "Get all this old shit outta here and pile it over yonder".. then it settled on down to "get the gas, we're gonna set that pile alight!".
I burned a house of furniture. Well, not the house, just the ratty ol furniture inside of it. It has alot of work to go till it is done, but I am looking forward to it.
Today Chris and I finished getting almost all of the furniture out of the house and burning it yet again. Tomorrow we work on room three, probably with another fire. Wednesday is "Guy with a backhoe comes in and rips out brazilian pepper day". All that will also turn into a big ass fire. (see a recurring redneck theme here?) Thankfully its not (yet) hot as ball outside, and I realistically have 2-3 months to get the shit together before it starts getting too damn hot to do anything.
Most of whats left, and the hardest part, is going to be the sanding of the floors, the varnishing of them, and the pressure washing/sanding/painting of the outside. If anyone reading this wants to go to a 'rural work retreat', for a weekend and help out, let me know. Beer will be on me. I also need to get the electrical service hooked up, the water turned on, the phones connected, and the interior of the place done up before I can move in. Daunting task to say the least.
