I'm afraid I may never be able to appreciate The King's Speech properly, because I now associate 2010s-era Colin Firth with Bill Haydon's stupid smug face. This could cause some awkward moments.
(I didn't have this problem not conflating Peter Guillam/modern!Sherlock Holmes/moe!Stephen Hawking, partially because Benedict Cumberbatch can be oddly chameleonic for someone so distinctive looking, and partly because I like all three of these characters, even if in Sherlock's case it's the value of "like" that doesn't exclude the occasional feeling that the boy needs to be smacked.)
