Because I'm contrary like that, I was reading something talking about the issue of "importing heterosexual dynamics into m/m slash fiction," - by which I believe they were talking about stereotypical seme/uke stuff - and I thought "but there's more than one set of traditional media hetero romance dynamics!" What it means to be the "man" or the "girl" is rather different if you're doing a yaoi pastiche of Rumiko Takahashi romances versus taking your inspiration from old Hollywood screwball comedies, Gothic romance novels, or femdom porn.
