Ashes in your hair remind me
Another day another concert! *feels spoiled* This past week was my birthday week and I had some vacation time to use up so I took 4 days and had a super long weekend.
Since they had to postpone the original August date, they tried to make up for it by playing extra long. Which was fine with me even though I had to be at work in the morning. The opener was a band called Boris. They are from Japan and I thought it was pretty cool to see 2 j-bands in the same week. This is a great city.
The show was amazing (as usual for nin) both visually and musically. They had some of the most unique lighting effects. Trent did some live mixing and utilized actual instruments instead of using synth for everything. It was great! I laughed at the looks from the beer swilling jackholes, who unfortunately attend these concerts, when Trent started playing the xylophone. XD
It was the best show I’d seen this year.
Needless to say I was near worthless today at work since I only got about 4.5 hours of sleep. After coming back from a break I didn’t have too much to do anyway except a couple things and reading about a thousand emails. It was pretty quiet since tomorrow is a holiday. A great holiday where the stock market is closed WHICH means…..I get the day off. Yay!
My birthday itself was really good. We went out friday night with a couple friends and then out for a big dinner with friends at Kikugawa. The food was tasty and the sake was even better. My mom sent me warm fuzzy pajamas but I may need to ask for another pair since the pets took turns napping on them...
