[Well, this is embarrassing.  Despite what a certain Falenan knight told a certain tactician at homecoming - no, Lyon never had any formal training in how to dance, and it is not at all like the footwork involved in swordplay.  She did manage to get a bit of dancing in with the Prince, but took a rather unfortunate spill a few songs in and twisted ( Read more... )

[If the tray is giving her trouble, then she's lucked out on Friday. Caesar has finally grown tired of seeing her drag herself around like this and just so happens to step into the lunch line right before she can pick her tray back up.

He'll take that.]

Do all knights really enjoy suffering? It seems to be a trend no matter where in the world you are.

[Lyon smiles as Caesar takes her tray.]

Oh, thank you--

[But then she sees who it is and braces for incoming trolling.]

I didn't do this on purpose.

You may not have twisted your ankle on purpose, but you've dragged yourself to school these past two days by your own choice.

[He could add 'ha, I was right', but that they both already know that.]

Where are you sitting? I'm not going to stand around holding this forever, you know.

I can't just stay home forever. I already spent the first three days lying around on the couch. It was driving me crazy.

[Lyon's look is somewhere between grateful and guilty at this point.]

It wouldn't have been forever. Going out on it to keep from being droned is one thing, but if you were resting at home today and yesterday instead, your ankle would most likely have been fine by tomorrow.

[That guilty look isn't getting any pity. She brought her own suffering about. Still, he'll turn and walk over to the seat she pointed out and set her lunch down there.]

I should be all right soon now that I have these.

All those do is make you a giant target.

[He'll linger at the table, hands returning to his jacket pockets now that the tray has been put down. Not like he has anything else to do but loiter.]

Just go home, Lyon.

But it's a lot less painful to walk when I'm using them. The school nurse gave them to me yesterday.

And I can't go home, or I'll fall behind!
