I think I should write a book on things not to do immediately after giving blood. My qualifications to write such a book seem to be growing every time I donate. My recent experience involves a blood donation and an amusement park. I went down to Paramount's Kings Dominion on sunday (since I had free tickets to do so). When we got there, they were having a blood drive in front, and people who gave blood got a free ticket. So I decided to do that. So now I have an extra ticket to the park. Which I would definitely use if the park weren't $25 worth of gas away. But the first ride you see when you enter the park is the big Pirate Ship thing that spins upside down. I really don't recommend a ride that holds you upside down for a while right after giving blood. So amusent parks, nights out drinking, and playing tennis are bad after giving blood.
As a side note, Kings Dominion has some absolutely awesome rides. The volcano and flight of fear roller coasters were just awesome. (Flight of Fear is kind of like Space mountain, in that it's completely inside, and dark... the difference is that it's massively large, and very fast).
Speaking of gas, it kind of boggles my mind that my saturn ion costs $37 to fill the tank. Ouch.
This weekend is opening weekend for both Stanford (vs. Navy, where I will be on saturday!) and the NFL (go vikings!). So it's going to be a good weekend, I think.
