fun on ice

I forgot how much fun broomball is. Even when you lose 3-0. It's also tiring, and potentially painful. But that's another story. So far the BSSC thing has been fun. After the game we went to the 'sponsor bar' and talked for a bit, and played flip cup. Figuring, hey, if we can't win on the ice, at least we can win in the bar.

Speaking of sports, the Red Sox won the world series. Which is good in that my bet with Qasim is still alive (go Vikings!). But bad in that I hate the Red Sox. Really it was a no win situation. Now lots of people are going to be cheering for the cubs to win a world series, to break their long string of losing. And the White Sox continue to get no love. Even though it's been since 1917 since they last won.

In other news, for people interested in fall leaf-peeping, I recommend the Balt-Wash parkway. It's a really nice drive this time of year. Which I got to discover on one of my trips back from doing field work. My poor car's been getting run into the ground due to all of this field work (3000 miles in a little over a month).

I think that's about it here. Apple needs to stop improving their ipod when I'm trying to find a reason not to get it (or to get a competitive product). While I can't really see any use for a photo ipod (because, really, who carries photo albums around with them), it's still pretty snazzy.
