So, just to get a few little things out of the way first:
Rachel, my appartment is RIGHT near via Faenza!!! I live on Sant Antonino between via Faenza and somthing else... it's like a block away from San Lorenzo and two from the train station. And one of my classes is on via Faenza :) I'll look out for the hotel you stayed at :)
Some quick factual updates:
-Amount of olives ingested: 1 salad.
-Amount of soy milk found: none.
-Museums visited: 2.
-Soccer games attended: 2.
-Morano glass bought: 1 bracelet.
Yes mom, supposedly the Morano glass is cheaper here in Florence. Don't worry.
So yes, today I went to the Uffizi. But I was with my class so I couldn't put any part of me (not even my hand) in the fountain--sorry Zac.
The Uffizi was pretty amazing. I can't actually say too much about it right now because I have to go meet the group to go to the Piazza Michelangelo in a minute, which is actually where I went last night to watch the soccer game, which was AWESOME. I have pictures. You will see them when I come home. There were ridiculous amounts of people there. Seriously.
Anyway, right, the Uffizi. It was awesome. The best thing was Caravaggio's Bacchus, which totally blew my mind. I mean, I kindof knew that it would, but it was great anyway. I went back to look at it. Twice. I was not as blown away by the Botticellis as I thought I was going to be, but that's ok. I bought a lot of post cards. Anyway, that must be it for now, ttyl!
