And it must be Spring! Pitchers and catchers have reported to camp already, and the rest of the team is soon to follow. Today while out walking I saw the first crocuses of the spring flowering. Pretty soon the snow will finish melting and it will be allergy season ... and more importantly, baseball season! As y'all may recall, I'm part of a group that has four season tickets to the Washington Nationals. Since there are seven members of the group, each of us gets tickets to 11 of the team's 81 home games (a total of 44 tickets). The way that the group allocates the games is that each member submits a "wish list" of about 15 games, out of which the 11 games are chosen. Or this year, my 10 games - it's finally my turn this year to go to Opening Day!*
I really enjoy using the games to see people. So take a look at the
Nationals' 2010 schedule and see what catches your fancy. If there are games that you are interested in, please let me know by next Friday (2/26) which games and how many tickets to each you would like. As you may remember from past years, I usually end up going to seven or eight of the games, so there will be games where all four tickets can be had. If now is too early for you to commit to a specific ate, it's fine to let me know categories of games (specific teams, weeknights/weekends, day games/night games, etc) to shoot for, as well as any limitations that you're aware of at this time (I have several friends who will probably want to wait until after the NHL season ends - I'm looking at you,
sproing). Once I have my allocation confirmed, we'll fill in the schedule. It's a chaotic process, but somehow it all seems to work out year after year. The Nats have not raised their ticket prices, so the tickets are still $20 apiece ($20.25 actually, but I hate making change). Given that the seats are in the 2nd row of the upper deck behind home plate (section 309, Row B, seats 3-6) I firmly believe that they are the most cost-effective seats in the ballpark.
You can let me know here or offline by e-mailing me at d_c_guy@yahoo.com. In the meantime stay warm and think spring!
*Note that I can't promise Opening Day tickets to anyone, as
eilonwydreams and family will get first option.
