So I have this innate fear of crosswalks right? Only, I never really had to worry about it at home. In hicksville there are pretty much no cars to speak of, and you can see a mile in all directions. On campus however.... well, I almost got hit AGAIN!
It's not like I'm careless when it comes to crossing the roads, I'm a very cautious person. Some lights are only so long however, and when you're on a bike, you have to dodge people to get across. Generally it's not my fault... I was watching... it's not my damn fault she can't eat and drive at the same time! I am so sick of stupid people! It's a corner, there are about 20 people crossing the road, we have the right of way, she NEVER HAD A ENOUGH SPACE TO TURN ANYWAY!, I'm on a bike so I can't exactly stop fast... there was a couple people in front of me... grr.
Then last week I was going to class and I was the only one crossing the road, some girl comes flying around the corner making a left turn... litterally comes within half a foot of me with her bumper... and I'm WALKING.
One thought came to mind as I approached a cross walk today. Chris. I couldn't help but think of asking him what it's like to be hit by a car... but I don't need to ask. I can still picture him in that bed.... scary.
So far, on campus, I've had at least 5 close calls that I can think of, plus one or two off campus a few years ago.
I don't want to go to class....
(oh ya... GO TIGERS!)
