Two Months Without A Day Off.

Today was difficult.

Part of it might have been yesterday. Having to work those extra two hours made me antisocial for the rest of the day. I made my West African Chicken Stew (chicken, chickpeas, potato, spices, peanut butter sauce), which went well over the table, and retreated to my man cave for the rest of the evening. I didn't say much online, and eventually went to sleep earlier than normal.

This morning was more of the same. I felt listless, anti-social, and I just continued to wallow in my malaise. What makes it difficult is that I've also noticed how I've returned to being 'social,' a condition I did not have to consider last year. Other people are also going through the same foul moods, albeit for different reasons, and I'm in a position to care enough to try help solve the problem. To help try motivate them. Not much success on that front, but is there ever? Doesn't help my mood, though, and neither did today's lesson on Sylvia Plath. Even Tim, my resident cynic, found the material too thick and depressing for his tastes. What do you expect when you analyse the life of bipolar Plath, right?

My brother has been providing me updates into his attempts to escape his NEET lifestyle. He got a lucky break by being interviewed by a reputable company where the family has contacts (to help grease the wheels), and things were looking good. Unfortunately, on a test designed to test his self-motivation and related inclinations, he scored a -36 on a scale of 0-40. If you think that's good, take note of the negative sign. Even the HR interviewer was... shocked. I wasn't, but this only makes my task of motivating him to stop living in his room all the harder...

I get a day off on the 3rd. I plan to use it to do absolutely nothing. Nothing. I haven't had a whole day off in a month. I ought to use it to write, but I just can't be arsed to do anything but lie on my back with the air conditioner on full blast. Until then, I'll just survive as best as I can, like always.

At least Steven had a good weekend. You may remember him from an earlier post as one of my seniors. Graduated. Doing well for himself at CMC

And I just now realised that I never ate lunch. How did I manage to miss a whole meal? Wow, today, wow...
