Felicity Huffman was at one of the Golden Globe after parties. She was looking around for her husband, William H.Macy. Just then she noticed someone coming toward her. The actress looked familiar but she wasn’t sure where she knew her from. Just then Felicity noticed the award in her hand.
Oh yeah, she won best actress in a drama television series, she thought.
“Hi, I’m Mariska Hargitay,” she said going to over to Felicity shaking her hand.
“Felicity Huffman,” Felicity said shaking Mariska’s hand back.
“I just want to say that I’m a huge fan of yours on Desperate Housewives!” Mariska said.
“Oh thanks, I appreciate it, congratulations on winning by the way,” Felicity replied.
“Thank you!” Mariska said with a huge smile. It had been a great night for her since she had won!
“FLICKA!” They were interrupted by screams from Felicity’s co-stars, Marcia Cross and Eva Longoria.
“Hey guys, this is Mariska,” Felicity said.
“Nice to meet you two,” Mariska said.
“Congratulations on winning tonight,” Eva said.
“Thanks!” Mariska said.
“Yeah congrats,” Marcia said.
A photographer came over and took some photos of the 4 of them.
“Oh my god, I love this song!” Eva shouted when he was done.
“I’ll see you later Flicka!” Marcia said as her and Eva went over to the dance floor.
Just then Felicity’s husband Bill came over.
“Hey honey, I’ve been looking for you,” he said.
“Hey Bill,” she said and kissed him on the cheek. “This is Mariska,” Felicity said introducing her to Bill.
“Nice to meet you,” Bill said shaking Mariska’s hand.
“I’m a big fan of yours,” Mariska said.
“Thank you, I appreciate it,” Bill said.
Mariska smiled at them.
“You know what I better find MY husband, it was nice to meet you both,” Mariska said.
“It was nice to meet you also,” Felicity said. She grabbed a napkin from a nearby table and scribbled down her phone number.
“Next time you’re in LA, give me a call,” Felicity said handing Mariska the napkin.
“I will, definitely,” Mariska said.
Mariska felt something like a connection to Flicka even though they had just met for 5 minutes. Meanwhile Felicity was feeling the same.
The Next Day
Felicity didn’t have to go to work that day so after she took her kids to school she was doing some cleaning around the house. As she was vacuuming the living room she heard the phone ring. She turned the Vacuum off and picked up the cordless phone from the coffee table.
“Hello,” she said.
“Hey Felicity’s it’s me Mariska,”
“Mariska, hi! What’s going on?” Felicity asked.
“Well since I’m not going back to New York for a few days I thought maybe we could meet up for lunch later. I would love to get to know you better,” Mariska said.
“Today?” Felicity asked.
“Yeah, is there a problem? Because if there is we can always meet tomorrow,” Mariska replied.
“No today is fine,” Felicity replied.
Felicity and Mariska arranged a place and time to meet.
“So I’ll see you later than,” Mariska said.
“Yeah, see you later,” Felicity said and hung up.
Felicity looked at her watch. She still had some time before she met had to meet Mariska. She decided to change her clothes. Felicity went upstairs and looked in her huge closet. She settled on a simple black pencil skirt with a light blue blouse. She had just enough time to put some make-up.
Felicity walked into the café where they were meeting and saw Mariska sitting at a table.
“Hey!” Mariska said smiling when Felicity sat down. She took a sip of her coffee.
“You look nice,” Mariska said.
“So do you,” Felicity said. Mariska was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans.
“Do you want me to go order our food?” Mariska asked.
“Sure, get me a turkey sandwich and a coffee,” Felicity said and handed Mariska some money.
Mariska refused the money “It’s my treat,” she said smiling.
“Thanks,” Felicity said smiling.
Mariska went and ordered. A few minutes later she came back with the food.
“Thanks Mariska,” Felicity said.
They began eating and making idle chat. After about an hour Felicity looked at her watch.
“Oh wow, I have to go pick up my daughter’s at school. I’m sorry we couldn’t have talked for longer,” Felicity replied.
“Oh it’s alright, I understand,” Mariska replied.
The two women stood up from the table. Felicity gave Mariska a small, cute smile which Mariska responded to by smiling back.
“You’re welcome to come and visit me or phone me anytime you’re in New York,” Mariska said. She wrote down her address and phone number on a napkin and handed it to Felicity, just like Felicity had done the night before. Both women felt a tingle as their hands brushed each other.
“Thanks,” Felicity said as she felt herself begin to blush.
The two stared into each other’s eyes a bit longer than necessary before Felicity quickly left the restaurant.
That was a bit awkward, Mariska thought.
Mariska wasn’t surprised when she didn’t hear from Felicity again. Suddenly as Mariska relaxed at home, enjoying her first day off in six months she heard a knock at her apartment door. She got off the couch and answered it. She was very surprised when she saw Felicity standing in the hallway.
“Felicity, hi,” Mariska said.
“Hey Mariska, Can I um talk to you?” Felicity asked.
“Sure, come in,” Mariska responded as Felicity went inside the spacious apartment.
Felicity had been in New York, numerous times, over those six months doing various forms of press and publicity for Desperate Housewives. Every time she was there, she had been too scared to contact Mariska. She didn’t want to have to deal with her attraction to Mariska. She loved her husband…but she loved Mariska too. Finally that day she found the courage to talk to Mariska.
The two women sat down beside each other on Mariska’s couch.
“So what did you need to talk to me about?” Mariska asked, wondering if it was what she thought it was.
Felicity opened her mouth to speak but couldn’t think of anything to say. The two women stared at each other with fiery passion. The next thing Mariska knew, Felicity’s lips were pressing on hers and she felt a warm sensation running through her. Mariska pulled away.
“Are you sure you want to do this?” she asked.
“Yes…” Felicity breathlessly answered as she leaned down and began kissing Mariska’s collarbone.
“Let’s go to the bedroom…” Mariska said.
An hour later the two lay breathless in bed, tangled in the sheets.
“That was amazing,” Felicity said.
“It was,” Mariska breathlessly replied.

Another six months passed without any contact between the women. Over that period Felicity regretted sleeping with Mariska since she loved her husband. But she still felt a strong connection to Mariska. One day on the Desperate Housewives set, Felicity was relaxing in her trailer in between scenes when someone knocked on the door.
“Come in,” she said. Felicity looked in the direction of the door and Eva walked in.
“Hi Flicka!” she said happily.
“Hey sweetie,” Felicity said to the petite Latina.
“What do you have there?” Felicity asked referring to the stack of magazines in Eva hands.
“The tabloids for this week,” Eva replied and placed them on the coffee table in the trailer. “I thought it would be fun to look through them and make fun of what they say about us,” Eva sat down on the couch beside Felicity.
“Sure,” Felicity said. She grabbed a magazine from the top of the pile and began flipping through it. She saw Mariska’s picture and stared at the page. She began scanning the article that accompanied it.
One word in particular caught her eye. Pregnant.

That weekend Felicity decided to take a spur of the moment trip to New York. She went over to Mariska’s apartment and knocked on the door. She waited patiently to see if Mariska would open it. Suddenly the door began opening and she was standing there.
“Felicity…” Mariska said surprised.
“Is Peter home?” Felicity asked, referring to Mariska’s husband.
“No, I’m alone.” Mariska replied.
“Good.” Felicity said before going inside the apartment and pinning Mariska up against the wall. She gave Mariska a fiery passionate kiss. When she pulled away Mariska stood there stunned.
“So is it true?” Felicity asked.
“Is what true?” Mariska asked confused.
“Are you pregnant?” Felicity said.
“Yes I am.” Mariska answered. Just then Felicity noticed Mariska’s protruding stomach.
“I’m happy with my husband, and we’re having a baby. I thought you knew that what he had was a one time thing,” Mariska said.
Felicity felt her heart break into a million pieces.
“I’m sorry Felicity,” Mariska said. She led Felicity out of the apartment and shut the door. Felicity was left standing heart broken in the hallway. She sadly walked away, back to the airport so she could go home to her husband and children, feeling very guilty over what had happened.
