At least for the semester. At work, we host graduation ceremonies, dinners, and parties. In the spring, all I could think was how close I am to graduation. That was when I was planning to graduate in December of next year. Realizing that I won't be able to work the next host of graduation events because of my OWN graduation is a little crazy to think about. Mom just made hotel reservations. The area is already pretty much booked. My graduation is Saturday, May 3 from 8:45am-10:45am. At first, I thought this was WAY too early, but then I realized that since all I'm gonna do is party/get drunk afterwards, it's pretty sweet.
Monique's graduation/party is tomorrow. My first good friend to graduate.
The semester is coming to an end. I started/finished that 'internship experience,' summarizing the research other cities have done in terms of greenhouse gas inventories. Wrote a 10-page paper on my (2 week) experience, that was due Monday. I also got hired as an intern for the City of Lansing's Mayor's Office, continuing to work for the Go Green! Go Lansing! initiative. So HOPEFULLY I'll be able to sign up for internship credits, that way I'll only have to take 12 credits of 'real' courses.
My partner for a presentation on development in Kenya avoided me ALL last weekend. Our presentation was due Tuesday night, we were to present it on Wednesday in class. We hadn't started. He FINALLY got in touch with me on Monday afternoon, at which point I was so stressed over the situation that I bitched him out. LOL. At least it got finished up in time.
After finishing that on Tuesday evening, I STARTED to write my 10-page term paper for Environmental Ethics (I like the amount of projects I've started and finished a day or two before they are due... Wednesday night I stayed up until 6:30am finishing it. Not my best work, but at least it's done now.
- Over the weekend, I have to finish my take-home exam for Environmental Ethics. I'm not too worried about that, though, because I'm really into the class.
- On Tuesday, I have exams in Econ and Environmental Econ (really need to study for those).
- Wednesday my Environment & Society term paper is due. (Haven't started that, but it's basically the same as the one I turned in for Environmental Ethics).
- Thursday I have my final term paper due, and my final exam. I emailed my prof last week my preferences for a term paper topic. He still hasn't responded. I'm gonna do what I feel like, and if he tells me I can't, I'm gonna tell him to suck it. He can't expect us to wait until the last minute to get it done. If we decide wait until the last minute, that's one thing... but I got a lot to do and I can only wait so long to get certain things done. I'm kinda excited about it though. All my term papers have been 10 pages. This one is only supposed to be 4-5 (awesome). It's on Zimbabwe's CAMPFIRE program (utilizing wildlife to promote development). I'm glad my interests in African wildlife can be put to an advantage in my courses.
I'm done with the semester on Thursday evening. I will probably be going to the bar afterwards. Friday is "Motivation Day" with Monique... planning our lives, basically, but I have a feeling we're going to end up partying instead. Then Saturday I'm heading home for two weeks.
Christmas is around the corner and apparently John is getting me a gift. (Threw me off guard, I hadn't been planning to get him anything...lol... kinda nice knowing he 'appreciates' me more than I appreciate him...)
Other than that, I've been super stressed (which doesn't surprise me considering the amount of things I put off until the last minute and am now responsible for completing in a short period of time). I can't wait for the semester/year to be done. And I especially can't wait until my college career is done. Sad to say that I'm actually looking forward to a full-time job and 40-hour work week.
