I really really really want to start on a new 18th century dress, but I really really really feel like I need to finish the project on my plate first. I think a riding habit will be a good May pique-nique ensemble, but I am a little uncertain about lugging the weight and bulk of wool all the way to France. I suppose since I only need to bring two costumes, maybe it's no big deal. Anyway, thinking I may soon have somewhere to wear it is making it a little easier to ignore the pull of a new dress... for now! But buttonholes are not very exciting... :P
Grad school is going well. So. Much. Reading. And I feel like I've been writing more grant applications lately than I have essays for class. But they are starting to pay off - literally - so that makes me feel good about all the effort. And I had a really good meeting with the head of the grad program for my department to talk about PhD programs. Really AMAZING PhD programs. At really AMAZING universities. That he thinks I'd be eligible for. O.o I am so super motivated to knock this master's degree and my conference presentations out of the park!
It's been so long since I've been to costume event or seen my friends. I am so thankful for LJ and the updates and photos you all post! <3
