Mohr costumes!

It sure feels good to be posting regularly, finishing UFOs, making new costumes, experimenting with art projects, doing scholarly research, improving my French, and learning to play the recorder! I make small steps across a wide range of interests, so sometimes I feel like I'm not accomplishing anything. But then I reach a new skill level or finish a project, and then I realize how much I've been doing. And it feels great! :)

I finished my embroidered textile art piece. I titled it "Brush Stroke."

I learned to play Greensleeves on the recorder. I finally made it to the end of my first lesson book and have learned enough notes to do it!

My red wool medieval cote is DONE. I finished the 39 eyelets and tried it on. The ribbon is a place-holder for the cord I plan to finger-loop braid. The color is a little blotchy, because I only had my stove-top dye-pot. I think it's ok though. The dress is completely hand sewn. I'll go back and whip down the inside seams a little at a time as I need a hand-sewing project during a movie or when my hubby reads to me. This is the poor dress that was started for my trip to New Hampshire for the medieval conference, but got abandoned. I pressed on to have it done in time for the medieval faire tomorrow, but have ended up with no car or ride. :(

I graduated from the 5-8 year old Beast Quest books (in French) and have been working on a tween historical novel about a girl who is in service to La Favorite at Versailles. I can now read it a full chapter at a time! Major progress!

And my Etsy shop has had a record month in June. Yippee! Makes me a little less stressed about my trip to London next month. Speaking of which, my next costume project is to figure out what I am wearing at the Georgian picnic at Chiswick House! Mohr costumes! ;)
