it is pretty and shiny!! I walk my dog every day past a little (and I mean TINY) thrift store, where they know me now as a regular customer. When I went by, they were closed for lunch, but I looked in the window to see if I saw anything new. OH YES! There was the sweetest looking coffee set, so I decided to come back later and ask about it. The pieces were in excellent condition, the style was perfect for my tastes, and the price was right! I'd looked at coffee pots at flea markets that were twice as much as I paid for a pot, 6 demitasse cups, and 9 saucers! Thrilled with my purchase, I came home and decided to look up the maker's mark on the bottom. Turns out it is Haviland Limoges porcelain from between 1891-1899!! What?! So I think I will sell the extra saucers and make back all the money I spent on the set! I was totally happy to have a cute little thrift store coffee pot, but now I am nervous about using them. I saw some coffee pots from this period listed for $300! My unexpected treasure...
