The Amazing Robots in Disguise (tm)

This actually happened about a week ago, but I thought it was worth bring to you people's atttention.

A long time ago after Dreamwave Studios imploded the Transformer's comic license was up for grabs. One of the rumored possible contenders was none other then good old DC comics. Not only that, the rumor also stated that the Transformers would be added to the main DC universe. That idea was stupid, but the idea of the Transformers crossing over with one of the big two's heroes is very intriguing.

Well, that concept is finally seeing the light of day, except replace DC with Marvel.

This July will see the launch New Avengers/Transformers, a four-issue miniseries written by Stuart Moore (Firestorm) and drawn by Tyler Kirkman (whose work I am not familiar with). Arguably the weirdest thing about this book is that it will be in both series continuity, sort of.

It happens after the recent story arcs for Transformers but before Civil War hit the Marvel Universe, but it takes place on a world where both groups have coexisted. Since this is the IDW version of Transformers though, they have actually managed to keep their presence a bit more secret then they ever did in the original show.

While it's likely all the adventure in this miniseries will be earthbound, I'm hoping it's successful enough to generate a sequel where Unicron has a throw down with Galactus.
