My latest jewellery-making endeavours involve a lot of fabric, and I am not as comfortable with it as I am with chain and beads. So there is a lot of freaking out on my part when I can't get things exactly how I planned for them to be.

I make jewellery. Not with a huge degree of skill, but plenty of enthusiasm. Bracelets have so far been my weak point, and so I am practising with different ideas. I recently bought A Charming Exchange, by Ruth Rae and Kelly Snelling, which is about the end products of a jewellery-making collaboration between several makers. As a disclaimer, I found pretty much all of the projects totally gorgeous and inspiring. But there was this one project that I just wanted to say something about.

Mostly sculptural jewellery irritates me. I think jewellery should be wearable and most sculptural jewellery could only be worn if you worn if you weren't planning on doing anything other than stand around being equally sculptural.

But these kinds of rings are just too damn pretty for me not to adore them.
