We’re on our “annual” trip to my Bluff City hometown, and once again took the route up through the Carolinas and over the mountain. Damn, that is a nice scenic stretch to welcome you home. Someday I’ll actually stop at one of those overlooks and take a picture.

Haven’t really wrapped my mind around this weekend fully - maybe because it was intended to be escape and relaxation, and it fairly well succeeded. This particular cabin was a big win, as it was decked out with everything we needed - including a nice den with pool table, gas grill and a hot tub. Walked so much today my calves won’t stop twitching, but it was a good walk on the beach. Once again this trip already makes me want to live in such a locale… just so I can go miles and miles on the beach and it not seem like exercise until after.
