So... I think I'm going to Japan this summer.

I also learned from the 'don't spend money' school, but my approach is a little different. I spend a little money on manga and anime stuff now and then, but mostly, I just enjoy the stuff I have. That helps. I'm also in such a fortunate situation that I have no need of a car. So I don't have one. That saves me loads of money.

In fact, for what it would cost to own a car for a month or two, I get to go to Otakon. Woot. I'll only get to be young and irresponsible for a limited while, after all.

What good is the money you save, if it does not enrich your life?

Yes, money should be spent wisely, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be spent at all.

warg! awesome! definately go, in my humble opinion. of course, this comes from the girl whose parents are willing to pay for london, since 'it's for my education.' but yeah, you're car is probably good for a few more years, and will you still have a job this summer? maybe go through and budget all the things you'll realistically need for the next year, to make sure there's enough left. there's always the chance of emergencies like cars dying, but how much do you really need a car at college? there are always people to bum off of. how long will you be there??? ^_^ send me a postcard!
