Well, 2008 was an interesting year to say the least. Personally, socially, nationally, politically, and so fourth. Yesterday was my birthday and I am very excited that I can finally say I am 18 years old and an "official" adult - whatever that really means. All I know is that now I can drive after 12:30 AM and I can buy scratch tickets, which I most likely will. I'm still hoping I'll win the Mega Millions one of these days.
So my Christmas/Winter Vacation has been absolutely amazing. Not being stressed for once since August is a welcomed, warm feeling. It is also amazing to see all my friends who are all at College. I actually didn't even get into the Christmas Spirit, however, untill Christmas Eve. I think it was a combination of my post stress from school and the fact that Christmas seemed to sneak up this year, so of course Greg and I ran around all day December 23 getting presents for my parents and I got gifts for my 4 managers.
To try to get my spirit in the Christmas Mood, amidst the giant snow storm we had that first weekend, I watched The Muppet Christmas Carol, Rudolph, The Year Without a Santa Claus, and so on. Christmas Eve was quiet and nice, and Christmas day was also very nice. And I appriciate so much everything my parents did for me/us. I got a few really good DVDs/TV Shows on DVD, and my parents gave me most of the money to buy a new computer, so obviously I got a MacBook! I am literally in love with it, and will never go back to my Windows ways. We also got Mario Kart Wii which we are intensely enjoying - it's so cool to play with people all across the world. And EVERYONE who watches gets incredibly invested (aka Leslie, Greg, and Melissa at 2:00 in the morning). It's an awesome game and I highly suggest it!
The remainder of vacation this far I have chilled in the house, to the max, posted with many friends, and so on. We also had a family Christmas party which I saw family members I have never met before. It was my dad's side of the family, and they are all so interesting and nice to talk to. The three of us also watched The Strangers a few nights ago, which even seeing for the second time, I still got terrified at certain moments. Nobody can deny that movie isnt at least a little scary.
I am hesitant and looking forward to 2009, but before I leave you with a list of what is to come, I will leave you with a list of what has happened in 2008. It was without a doubt a very significant year in my life, as many people's. 2008 occured during the second half of my Junior year, and the first half of my Senior - two years which I would say shaped my life heavily.

Last night was also my Birthday and New Years Eve party. We made our Murphy Production movie, this time an episode of America's Next Top Model. It was definately a high quality movie. We also played Apples to Apples (although I sat out to work on the movie), at massive amounts of food, screamed at the New Year of 2009, played Loaded Questions without the actual game, watched Harry Potter, and stayed up untill about 7:30 AM. To say the least I was quite tired today, and still am. People left starting at 8:00 and stayed untill about 1:00, and I was very happy. I had another very enjoyable and memorable birthday, and love all my friends (we mised you Kristen, too!). I am hopeful I will continue this tradition for many, many years to come, too.
So in 2009 Randolph will compete in another Festival Competition - who knows how far we will make it, if at all. I will also find out whether I am accepted to Colby, find out my financial aid packages, and than actually decide where I am going to College. And, of course the obvious, I will be attending College! It is such a crazy thought, and I honestly cannot believe my life is moving by so quickly. But in all honesty, I am completely done with this year. It is so exhausting and especially considering nearly everyone is already enjoying college life, I am anxiously and eagerly awaiting June 7, 2009, when I will graduate. At least there is only 3 weeks left of classes (and a week of midyears) untill term 2 is completely over, and G.P.A. and Rank close, plus my schedule switches from Current Issues and Advanced Composition to Theater and Art. Excellent. I will gladly welcome that change.
2008 was a long, interesting, shaping year for me, as for many people. I am eager and anxious to see what 2009 will bring, and all I can hope it is as best as it can be.
