Today would have been father's 69th birthday. Instead we mark a year and a half since he left us. It's so hard to have holidays without him, especially today. I was hoping that they'd get easier, but I'm not really sure that they ever will.
On a slightly happier note, Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I'm thankful to live in a place where I can afford to take the little things for granted. I'm thankful that I can turn on a light switch and expect electricity, or turn on a faucet and know that water will come from it. I'm thankful that I can afford to be somewhat wasteful because I know that I will be able to procure more of whatever it is I am wasting. I'm thankful for the clothes that are a little snug because that means I've had enough food to eat. I'm thankful for the fights I have with friends and family because that means that I have people that love me enough to challenge me. I'm thankful for life even when things seem to be terrible. I'm thankful for the love I feel and give because it changes my life and others lives. I'm thankful for everything and everyone...somehow.
