I don't normally do fic recs, because I kind of suck, but I'm hoping to change that since, hey! I like fic, you like fic, we could do something awesome by sharing the good stuff around.

Each Peach by
etben. NC-17. Pete/Patrick/Ashlee. Pear Liberal Studies. 15,323 words.
Not that Patrick is complaining, not when "not normal" means Pete's hand on his inseam, Pete's breath warm and damp against his thigh, Pete's hair under his fingers. Pete's fingers tucked into his jeans, first a little and then a lot, popping the button and sliding the zipper down.
"Hi," Ashlee says in his ear. "What's up?"
This is really, really weird.

I’ve always had a soft spot for polyamorous fic, but, weirdly, it’s something that writers seem to really struggle with on the whole. I don’t know why, I think people find it difficult to capture an equal dynamic when dealing with a relationship between more than two people, and this fic does it so, so well. There’s something lazy and laid-back about it which gives it a real ebb and flow sort of feel and it reads really well as a result. It’s told through Patrick’s perspective, and what appears weird to him seems almost natural and logical to a Pete who’s maybe always wanted this, and an Ashlee who’s portrayed as seeing in Patrick what Pete originally did too. Pete’s just unstable enough to make this work, and Patrick’s probably the only normal person in the relationship, but maybe that makes it work too. It has the perfect amount of insecurity and humour and amazingly hot sex scenes and everyone should’ve read it like, yesterday. Plus the last two scenes? Omg, my heart.

Things That Got Lost Without Anyone Noticing by
sakuracorr R. Blair/Serena, Blair/Chuck, Blair/Jenny, Blair/Dan/Chuck, mentions of Blair/Nate.
When Serena is finally done tasting, touching, leaving her marks (when Blair is finally so exhausted, she just lies shaking slightly, covered by lingering aches even though her muscles have completely relaxed), she lies beside Blair and takes Blair into her arms. Serena buries her nose in Blair’s hair. There was one night when they weren’t sober, and Serena had whispered, “I love you so much it hurts” (That was the night they’d made the rule).

warning for mentions of drug abuse and sex with drug use that could be construed as dub-con (The latter warning is that of the author. I’m not sure I’d call it dub-con really, because I think it’s consensual, but I thought I’d slap the warning here just in case.)
This is hands down my favourite GG fic, and is quite possibly in the running for my favourite fic period. It’s gorgeously written and in-character and heart-breaking. It’s future-fic, a world without the Gossip Girl website, but not without the gossip. Where everyone’s successful and everyone’s broken, and Blair is the love of everybody’s life, but most of all, Serena’s.
To me, this fic feels like one of those ones where if these characters were for real, then this fic would be for real. Serena is so, so desperate and dependent and incapable of looking after herself, and I love the fact that Blair resents Serena just as much as she loves her. (I mean, seriously, this line - (the date where she made her first drunken mistake with Chuck Bass. She’d like to say that was when it all started, but she’d be lying. It started the first Christmas her mother had told Serena how pretty she looked in her dress, and Blair couldn’t remember the last time her mother had told her how pretty she looked. It was petty. She was six).) This is a love story with an edge, with spite and one where everyone’s heart is ultimately broken, even if it has a ‘happy ending’. If you only read one fic in the Gossip Girl fandom, this is the one to read.

Burn From the Inside by
sionnain_fics PG-13. Blair/Serena.
She never understood how someone could be so friendly all the time, like a spaniel, and not want to crawl in bed with a trashy novel and a Vicodin. Blair liked social engagements as much as the next girl, but they were exhausting; all sharp-edged and dangerous, like some sword of Damocles swinging like a pendulum above her. Serena never seemed to notice. Blair always figured if anything hung over Serena's head, it was something that would look perfect on her if it happened to fall.
&
Interestingly, Blair/Serena was actually the first femslash pairing that I really got into. There’s such an edge to them as friends, they’re just as likely to tear each other down as they are to help each other, to pull the other one along, and as a couple, as lovers, this just feels like something that intensifies. I love that. This is a fic that doesn’t quite make that leap from friendship to romance, rather, it approaches their relationship as one of mutual affection, and mutual betrayal, even if it focuses on Blair’s side of the story. It’s ultimately about intimacy, and I love that. I love that Blair can be so cold and detached, and yet so warm and honest and starved for affection. I really like the summary for this - Blair learns there are many things you can control, and many things you can't. Serena is somewhere in between. and the line Blair would never admit it, though, not to a single soul, not even to Nate. That would be an admission that Blair missed Serena, that roses and diamonds were not as good as a winter's sun and half-cold pizza, eaten in perfect companionship on a three-thousand dollar fur blanket on the grass. because they’re two sentences that so entirely sum up Blair for me.

She Wears Counterculture Lashes by
fated_addiction. PG. Dan/Serena. 251 words.
So he laughs a blurt, she flushes, and there’s a sense of honesty to the indulging of this, whatever it is, if it’s anything at all; he’s okay with it, he likes to think, even if it strays to nothing beyond anything.
&
This is some tiny, barely there Dan/Serena ficlet that I really, really enjoy. Dan/Serena isn’t my favourite pairing on the show by any stretch of the imagination, but there are a couple of fics out there that are bloody good little things, this is one of them. It’s only 251 words, and I feel like it captures their relationship better than anything longer and more involved could have. It was such a superficial relationship really, and Dan had this picture of Serena in his head that she was never going to fit, and this captures that perfectly. Serena’s flustered and happy, but unsure, and Dan loves what he sees of her.

Learning to Fly by
1297. NC-17. Zachary Quinto/Chris Pine. 4,672 words.
They’ve never said it aloud. Zach has never said, I’m gay, and he’s never said, I’m not always straight. But it’s there, between them on the couch, in the heat of his cheeks when Zach looks at him for too long, in the cool air that remains when he walks away.
It’s there.

What amazes me about anon kink memes, is that whilst there is a lot of crap, occasionally, just occasionally, some real gems emerge out of it, and this is definitely one of them. I can generally tell if a writer hasn’t thought about what they’ve written, and maybe that’s my biggest pet peeve of all when it comes to me as a reader (and as a writer, I’m not a fast one, because I do put a lot of thought into what I write)
This is so, so lovely. It’s gentle and funny and it feels real. Like two guys who worked together and accidentally fell into each other. It’s not necessarily love or intimacy, but it is affection, and friendship and sex, ultimately in that order.

Plan C by
sparky77. NC-17. Zachary Quinto/Chris Pine.
It’s possible that they’re flirting. They had a rule about that on the Heroes set. Well, they had the official rules and the rules the cast actually followed which was, “all the way or not at all.” Zach’s always been an all the way type of guy.
&
This is legit just really, really fun and funny and omg, hot. The Zach voice in this is just so entertaining, and I wish I could say more without butchering it, but it’s just one of those one’s you should read. So, so much fun.
