So not all that long ago I was over at Aaron's having a Sobe and I came to strange realization.
I was staring at a poster on his wall for the game Street Fighter. For some reason the illustrator of this poster made Chun-Li's leg muscles quite large and overly defined. As I studied the image, my mind began to wander. I thought of my own understanding of human anatomy and the way our muscles and bones combine to create our bodies.
Thats when I came to my realization. The human skeleton is nothing more than a complex series of sticks. And our muscles are like the strings that manipulate our puppet like structure from "behind the scenes" (ie beneath our skin)
I know, sounds crazy. But seriously think about it for a minute. Take your Torso. It houses all the essential things your body needs to run. Its basically our power plant or engine. We fuel it, it gives us energy. Now from there our arms and legs extend out and divide. From the shoulder to the elbow is our humerus which from there extends into the radius and ulna. And then to our hand and fingers. And all this is held together by our muscles which is made up of many tiny protein strands working together to control our every movement.
Okay, enough with the biology lesson. I just thought it was interesting when you break it all down how really simple it all can be. I've always been amazed by the human body. Its complexity of design and range of ability is nothing short of awe inspiring. So thinking of it all in such contrast is really entertaining to me for some reason. Anyway, Thats all. I know, I'm weird! :-P
