Tricky Weekend!

Friday:
Met up with J.R. whom I get to see maybe once a month (if I'm lucky!) We had some Bob's a caught up on shit. After that we went over to Kari's and played some Sing Star with her and Erin. To my surprise we actually all had a blast exhausting almost every song on the 3 games Kari has. Erin and I got a bunch more practice in on Run DMC's Tricky which we're supposedly going to be performing at Kathy's *Halloween party. I think if we choreograph some moves we're really gonna have quite the show on our hands :-P
After the singing was done we all went to Applebee's to hang out and munch on cheap appetizers. I had fun picking on our waitress, asking for some crayons and then attempting to eat them. oh good times.
I ended up crashing on Kari's couch. You would not believe the disturbing things I heard coming from Kari and Erin's bed. I mean their freaking sisters! I want to hearing that kinda crap! ;-D

Saturday:
The next morning Erin and I went shopping whilst Kari was hard at work. We encountered a bitter beauty school drop-out at the craft store, Picked me up some tanning lotion so I can get my Spartan bronze on, perused Best buy's music selection, then met Kari for lunch.
After lunch the shopping continued. With the new focus being on clothes.
To finish out the evening we went back to Kari's and watched Wild Hogs. Surprisingly not a bad movie! I really expected a lot worse.
With that I made my way back to Bellingham. But the night was still young.
Buddy was in town visiting Melissa. So after a quick bout of Halo 3 with Lauren (we actually beat the game! Go Us! :-) I met up with B&M at Rumors. I had no freaking idea how popular that place was! I seriously saw tons of people I knew there. Katy, a girl I met at a summer camp type thing at the Art Institute in Portland like seven years ago! Mandy Simpson, Lucas' sister. Even the waitress Tara and I had been hitting on at Poppies last weekend was there! Freaking crazy! Anyway, we had a lot of fun dancing. I was pretty lame with my moves (seeing a how I really don't have any, and I wasn't really looking to attract any attention :-) Buddy however made quite the impression all Manwich'n on stage. I actually think he broke some hearts afterward when he told them he had a boyfriend. Wish I had that kinda game :-P
Our little crew went back to my place to settle down and sober up with some casual chit chat. Melissa was quite eager to get a sneak peak at my Spartan physique. But as with any of my "projects" I like to keep the mystery until its ready for unveiling. So I promised I'd make it to her *Halloween party as well.

Sunday:
Oh Sunday! Ever the laid back cool man of the group. Nothin' gets your riled up. Sure Saturday is always stealing the spotlight and what do you get? A bunch of crazy religious folk who in all honesty view you as little more than a chore. But you continue to play it cool. Cause deep down we all know that without you there to back Saturday up, Monday would be riding our ass that much sooner and we'd never get our chance to unwind from the week. Thank you Sunday! :-D
Oh yes, lets see. This Sunday I went and worked on my Halloween costume with my mom. Seriously, she is amazing! I'd never be able to pull off the overly ambitious costume ideas I always have without her. This year she's made me an incredible looking Spartan cape. I really have no idea how she did it! I just throw the thing on and it looks like it was strategically placed there by the gods! :-P I tried it on last night when I got home, while holding my sword. I felt so freaking badass! I can't wait to see how everything is going to look finished.
Now she's working on the REAL fun project! (yes thats sarcasm you smell!) My "leather man-britches" of sorts. My mom deserves a damn trophy for doing this crap :-D Or at least a son who can remember his parents anniversary! (Why do I suck so bad at that!? Its their 35th too!!) Anyway, after thats done all I'll need to complete the ensemble is a shield which is proving VERY hard to come by, a waxed chest which I've heard from countless people will be my most painful experience to date, and some bronze complexion. I have no freaking clue how I'm gonna get that tanning lotion evenly on my back short of uncomfortably asking a friend for help.
I'm sort of curious just how dark I'll get, and it makes me think. Should I apply it.... everywhere?! I mean, Its bad enough when I see how white I am with my farmers tan in the summer. I'm thinking a bright white ass will beyond silly. Its pretty obvious I never took all of this into consideration when I decided to be a Spartan.
And what about after Halloween? How long am I gonna look like a baked bean? One things for sure, this should prove to be one memorable Halloween! :-D

Sunday morning view from my apartment

*I'm really struggling with the whole Halloween party thing. I'm super excited about my costume. Its all but done and is looking great! But so far I'm split between a party most of my friends will most likely be at and another which will have more people and things going on. I really want to go to both and probably will end up ding so. But one's in Mount Vernon and the other's in Bellingham. It just sucks trying to decide how to split my time between the two. Why couldn't there just be one big party that everyone I know could go to? :-P
