So I finally went and saw
Grindhouse last night. Wow, I don't know why but I was really surprised with how good it was. The attention put into making these movies seem like a classic double feature was nothing short of awesome. And the fake previews before and between the films.....wow, crazy shit! I could not stop laughing after the last clip of Thanksgiving. And I actually kind of want to see
Machete :-P

Planet Terror:
I can only describe this movie as being the juiciest zombie movie I've ever seen. I really liked how Rodriguez developed a sizable cast of characters to eventually join up to take on the growing zombie hordes all while being picked off one by one. The various cameos were also quite delightful. I can't say I didn't enjoy watching
Fergie getting ripped to bits. I bet the zombies had fun snacking on her humps :-D

Death Proof:
A lot people said this movie was too dialogue heavy with not enough action in the beginning. I can see how that sort of criticism could be brought up after just having watch a non-stop thrill ride like planet terror. But I for one enjoyed the slow down in pace and the rich character development. Although I liked this movie more than Planet Terror I don't think it was without its shortcomings.
Kurt Russell's character was hard for me to place. He played such a badass in the first half of the movie, but it didn't carry over very well to the second half. I really expected him to fight back more. But then again I always have loved watching a villain get their ass handed to them. Oh and the inclusion
Jonathan Loughran with his patented deep "Heh heh heh" Was fucking brilliant! :-D
