But before he can apologize and head over while thinking that Guy will tease him without mercy, the commotion starts.]
Xion?!
[But his voice is lost in what's happening, and all Luke can do is grab his sword and listen as he does so, trying to figure out what's going on. It sounds like a friend of hers got attacked; the voice sounds distantly familiar, too. Once the sword is equipped, Luke grabs the journal to speak.]
Xion, what happened?!

But Xion can barely handle just on more thing on her radar. Even if that thing is Luke. All, all she wants is to wake up and for this to be a really bad dream. ]
... someone ... attacked -- [ her voice strains for a moment, and she pauses. ] My best friend... Axel, he-- he's really hurt. Don't -- don't come.

[She doesn't want him to come... But still. Luke can't just turn away from this. A dear friend is hurt emotionally and vulnerable, and who knows what would happen if the attacker came back?
No... Luke couldn't possibly allow that, even though she asked. Luke sounds a little calmer, though whether that's because he knows what's going on, Xion's doing the panicking for him, or he's simply resolved is up in the air.]
But what if that person came back? ... If I can't be there, then I'll stand guard outside.
[Luke knows he'd be useless otherwise; he can't heal, and he'd only get in the way. All he can do is fight and protect, huh...
Now isn't the time to think about that, though.]

[ simply. she'll tell everyone who wants to know the boy's name, and even people who haven't asked. she wants everyone to know. she wants his name to be blackened.
there's a pause at his offer, though. she's still waiting -- for Roxas, for Axel to stop dying in her lap--
but-- ]
... if you want. [ her voice is barely above a whisper. she might at least look outside if he does come... but not much more than that. she won't want to leave Axel for more than a moment, if that. ]

[Luke will remember the name all right. And even if Xion didn't give him permission, he'd probably go anyway. Just to make sure nothing worse happened, or to just... be there. No one should be alone at a time like this.]
Okay. I'll be there. [And that's all he'll give before his footsteps mark his leaving. It doesn't matter if he doesn't even see her; as long as he can make sure no one who shouldn't be there gets by. He'll stand as long as he needs to.]

besides, she'll be hyper aware of anyone coming near the house, right now. so she'll be trying to keep aware of any approach, if only to be sure it's friend and not foe. ]

... he's stable. [ even her voice is rough, almost a little hoarse -- probably from all that screaming and crying. ] Roxas and I managed to take care of the worst of it. He didn't die...
[ she lets out a breath, pressing a hand to her face and looking away. ]

Still, he can't just say everything's going to be okay, even though Axel is stable now. That Vanitas guy is still out there and all... And Luke isn't exactly the optimistic type.
So, he just sets a supportive hand on Xion's shoulder.]
Then I'm glad you arrived when you did. And Roxas, too.

rather out of impulse, she abruptly hugs him, needing the momentary comfort. but it really won't be for long -- after just a few quiet seconds she'll pull away, motioning at the house. ]
... I should go back. Thank you, Luke.

Once it's over, Luke nods and manages a little smile.]
Yeah. I'll be out here if you need anything, okay?

... Axel needs her. she can't stay. somewhat reluctantly she pulls the door open again, and she actually tries a little smile for him. ]
... okay.
[ in she goes. she'll find you later, Luke. when she needs you -- and Axel isn't dying. ]
