(no subject)
My God, everybody I know/used to know is either married, has a child, is married with a child, or they are engaged. WTF?! We are only 20/21/22 people! I guess if I was in that situation, maybe I would think differently, but for now, hell no! Ugh.
My grandfather is in the hospital again and my grandmother has finally told him it was ok to go, since that has been his wish for a long time. No more tests, no more life support. He had a priest go in yesterday to read him his last rights. :( The last I heard, they were talking about putting him in hospice until the time came. He has been in and out of the hospital constantly over the last few years, but expecially often in the last year. :( It looks like this time might actually be it. He said he will not be leaving that hospital. So my sister and I are talking about driving over to Iowa this week to say goodbye. Plane tickets round trip are anywhere from $700 to $1500 which would take from like 8am to 10pm since flights to Iowa always suck, so it would just be cheaper to drive straight (33 hours) to Iowa and pay about $350 or so each in gas. It will suck, but whatever. Thank goodness my boss is cool with me taking time off so suddenly even with another person in our department being on vacation that I was supposed to cover for. Wish us luck if we decide to go. And pray my grandfather gets what he's been wanting for a long time and that he goes painlessly and peacefully when he does go.
