Oh the Irony

I've decided I need to be more active online so I'm going to be trying to post places more often.
Good kind of decision to make when I'm out a computer, eh? haha.

Anyhow, I met the most delicious man at work last night. Unfortunately, he did not immediately succumb to my manifold charms so, alas, I was stuck in eye-candy mode, which was certainly enough I tell ya what. Ah, the joys of working in a bookstore where the majority of the clientele aren't all slobering fools. It made me very happy when he requested a gardening book - especially when it turned out it wasn't one about weed/canis. Gotta love the edgy guys that do cute things.

Then again, I just love contradictions in any form, but maybe that's because I'm living as one. I'm a goody-two-shoes in a punk's body. I have a sister who just kicked a 5 year heroin habit and now has a baby. When we're out she'll even have the baby strapped to her, and I still get mistaken for being the one who'd just gotten out of all that 'trouble' because I look like the bad kid. It amuses me.

As does just about everything about working in a bookstore. Seriously, what's not to love? From the old ladies who come in to buy 20+ romance books monthly vs. those who hide the fact they're purchasing said romance books, the crank callers who ask about the sex books, the drunks who wander in from the bar next door and think they're hilarious, (let me tell you, St. Patty's day was always really interesting before the bar changed from being an Irish Pub, haha), those who want to get into conspiracy theory debates, those who think Glenn Beck is a bona fide genius and recommend everything he's ever written, the men who are stunned to find out the series they're reading is shelved in, le gasp, romance, and on and on.

Goodness, when you're in the right mood, I'm finding just about anything can be amusing ^_^
