Name 5 bands you wish the 'scene' hadn't gotten a hold of, and subsequently ruined:

LOL, first off - Bring Me The Horizon - I legit like this band. I rarely like metal/screamo/whatever and I like this band. I found out about them I think in 2005 at the hype of all the scene queen stuff and whatsherfacestartingwiths was dating Oli, so I checked them out. Because I was on dial-up there was no hope playing the songs on myspace and I downloaded RE: They Have No Reflections. My first response? I burst out laughing and was like, "Is this a joke?" For some reason, my iTunes shuffle was trying to tell me something and kept playing it. Eventually it stuck. Hard. I really wish the scene hadn't taken them because it irks me to see these Kiki Kannibal wannabes with their shirts on. It hasn't really tainted the band for me yet, but their EP was better than their debut.

The Horrors - This was a band I found a bit before they were even well known in the underground scene even. I remember being so stoked to see them playing at Misshapes (I religiously stalked this club). They were like, music for the criminally insane. It also fed my obsession for British bands and their accents. These guys aren't really tainted for me either, but I have to be in a mood to listen to them.

Fall Out Boy - I think that's enough said right there. I liked them when they were my little secret. Back when no one knew who they were and I was the one introducing them to everyone at my school. I can't even articulate the joy I felt when I first heard Dance, Dance on the radio. I called EVERYONE I knew, even if they didn't know who FOB were. I didn't imagine that I'd ever hear FOB on the radio like they are played now. Tbh, the scene did taint their later albums for me. I'm still living back in the Take This To Your Grave glory days.

Panic! At The Disco - Combination of the scene and radio ruining this band for me. I remember the demos came out and I was so stoked on them, especially Nails For Breakfast because my first thought when I heard Fever was "OMG THEY RUINED NAILS FOR BREAKFAST!" Although, when they were announce to come tour Australia for the first time, I think that's the most excited I've ever been for a band. I loved Fever harder than most albums. When I heard the demos and said to my sister, "this band is going to be massive" I knew I was right. The band was tainted for me for a bit and I couldn't bare to listen to Fever, but then Pretty. Odd. came out and for a little while, I had fresh music that the scene hadn't destroyed yet.

My Chemical Romance - Do I really need to elaborate? It was a combination of not liking The Black Parade and the scene kids. I felt like I didn't know this band anymore. I still feel like that, I suppose. Nothing will ever compare to Bullets and Three Cheers for me. They are two of the most important albums of my life and I remember after not listening to them for almost a year, I listened to Bullets and Three Cheers on my iPod and spent an entire 4 hour car trip crying uncontrollably.
