I have a schizophrenic t-shirt! ::dances:: M, thank you soso much!

Reason #247 why readers don't send fb: concern that they might look daft and/or offend the writer. I laughed till I cried is probably not the hoped-for reaction when someone thinks they've written a sensitive exploration of a young man coming to terms with his sexuality, or a Rilly ( Read more... )

It's totally edgy! Um.

I makes me cry, at least. Because of Connor. Cause I'm a Connor and also Wesley Girl. So I'm off on my own little Greek tragedy tangent there somewhere. Although every once in a while I snap out of it to giggle at the silliness mayhem.

Oh, Connor is a doll. Although his constant craving for an evil yet sexy mother figure in his life is a bit unnerving.

And the having sex with the mother figure. Although... I don't know if it's a mother figure. I mean, think about it. He doesn't see Cordelia as a mother figure. She sees him as a son. That's not the same thing. He has no memory of her motherly side. And Jasmine, well. He's her father. He wants something to protect. He's totally co-dependent.

It's all so complex! And also insane!

He was a strange child. By which I mean that I have now made it past the season finale, and I have a feeling that I missed something there, so now I have to watch it over again. I mean, I got what happened, but I never saw the part where there was a tiny hint that a would lead to b.

I so adored Connor and Angel while they were shiny happy people and sang songs. But happiness like that never lasts, does it...

Not in the Jossverse, at least.

The big whuh? about the season 4 finale was "when exactly did Connor learn to make bombs?" Cause Quor-toth? Not so much with the explosives. Or, well, who knows? We never saw it! Maybe all he did there was hook up car batteries...

At the time of watching, however, these trivial questions did not bother me. I was too busy weeping like an infant. I mean, whatever else was going on, both David B & Vincent Kartheiser were rocking their scenes. And I'm weak for men crying. And tense family scenes. Weak! This is why Everwood tends to make me cry also.

Maybe he took night classes. Surely all hell dimensions can't be technologically deprived. Or there could have been a Quor-toth equivalent of Hermods.

Sometimes they really got the chemistry right. (The other time it really leapt out at me, in a delightfully bad and wrong way, was of course when Connor took his turn having a nice little conversation with Angelus-in-the-cage. sparks of wrongness!)

Most of the Connor/Angel interaction was of the badwrong variety. I mean, just the domestic abuse factor! I don't know how they got a graphic scene of a father viciously beating his delinquent son to a bloody unconscious pulp past the censors. That one kind of hurt. Crazy times.

But yeah, Angelus always had that badass sexual vibe going on, and in that scene Connor seemed to have inherited a bit of it. "You're my real father," indeed.
