Tonight I was chased out of the shower by a roach.  Pathetic, I know.

I've never been one to much get into the holidays (aside from that manic Christmas phase in college).  But for years I was a willing, if not enthusiastic Halloween enabler.  Basically, I had a couple of bags of candy ready in the unlikely event some kids knocked on the door.  This was until Halloween 2000.

For lunch I thought I'd shake things up a bit and take a planned (as opposed to making a wrong turn and getting lost) adventure ride.  A take-out run to the closest Whole Foods in Porter Ranch was in order.  Since I haven't explored any of the northern part of the San Fernando Valley, a few miles out the 118  should offer some new scenery.  ( Read more... )

Someone called my agent last night to ask how motivated I was to sell, and say he might make an offer after looking around a bit more.   Hmmm . . . I'm pretty darn motivated considering I'm planning on dropping the price another 5K after the holiday weekend, but no need to mention that just yet.  An offer would be a very, very good thing.

Generally I'm not prone to panic.  Immediately imagine the worst possible scenario in graphic detail? -- yes, but freak out about it? -- not usually.  However, yesterday I flirted with panic over the house not having sold.

My friend from college who will be listing my house called to say that her people will be done with repairs and cleaning on Friday.  This means it will be listed for the Memorial Day weekend.

The "I don't want to mess up my credit" (HA!) tenant is finally out!

If all goes as planned, which nothing has yet, the property manager should have the move-out issues resolved next week and then Mary can list it.  Anyone interested in a cute 1950's ranch house near downtown Orlando?
