Notes From Work....

I think this is going to become a regular feature of mine. There's just so much crazy stuff I run across at work that I'd probably like to surf again at home that I'm going to be makng a .txt file to post in here when I can.

Today, my Amazon Surf:

First up, I got Son Of A Witch for Christmas! Woo!!I'm totally reading this at work in the new year.

And then there's what I'm currently reading. A cook-book I got from my family: ExtraVeganZa. It has a one word descripetion: Yum.
I 'very nearly didn't recieve this book', according to my mother. She almost kep it for herself. I can't think of a single thing in here I would be unhappy eating. except mebbe the choco-choco-chocolate thingy. (can't remember what it was called)

This book - Bullshit seems interesting. it's about the practice of bullshit in our society. I liked this clip from the review: It can't be denied; part of the book's charm is the puerile pleasure of reading classic academic discourse punctuated at regular intervals by the word "bullshit."
(I didn't get this one for christmas, btw. I don't own it.. yet?)

That led fairly predictibly to Crimes Against Logic. Which is pretty self-explanatory,a nd looks interesting, too. If not as blunt as "Bullshit". It's more 'cutting', according to the reviews.

and now the mass-dump list
- Freakonomics - "why is a sumo wrestler like a teacher?"
- Heaven's Breath: A Natural History of the Wind - I read this great book on summer vacation once.
- The Secret Life of Inanimate Objects - crazy title, I love it. love the title, that is.
- Blink - the power of thinking without thinking - eeeenterestink.
- This Book Will Change Your Life - again. Eeenterestink. As a demanding prescriptive, I'm not sure I agree with it, but Morton's List was cool, so who knows?

...which reminds me. Morton's List has a totally free, "please forward this around"-style mini-version out now: Morton's Lite: 13%
They also just came out with a board game. Or are abotu to come out with one. I can't find a proper link.
